Revised Summer Plans after Black Friday.

So since Black Friday rocked my whole plans for the summer I've had a chance to rethink my options and figure out what the hell I'm gonna do now. I've actually been researching and thinking a lot about it and surprisingly not much has really changed. I'm going to basically blueprint my summer plans in this post.

Work or means of income:
  1. Poker profits/Rake back - I will cover this in a later post of what sites I plan on playing/how I plan on getting my money on and off the sites/ rake back & bonuses I plan on taking advantage of.
  2. Computer repair/home networking setup - Plan on putting ads on craigslist and the local newspaper along with word of mouth in order to be able to make some extra money fixing people's computers or setting up a home network for them.

Hobbies I plan on pursuing:
  1. Cooking & Grilling - I've recently found some fun in learning to cook meals and grill steaks/burgers/shrimp/chicken and such. I find enjoyment from it and completing the start to finish process.
  2. Volunteering - I've stated in earlier posts I'm planning on volunteering at a local animal shelter basically just walking/playing/training the dogs that are staying there. I think it will be a very positive life experience and bring some extra happiness by giving back to the animals that have brought so much joy to my life in the past, present, and future.
  3. Golfing - I'm a member of a local country club and really enjoy golfing. I haven't had the time to put in at the course in the past couple of years due to work and just general laziness so I'm looking to start new and change that this summer
  4. Firearms Competitions - As some of you may know I played professional paintball a couple years back traveling across the US to compete in tournaments and truly enjoyed the overall experience. I'm starting to miss the feeling of shooting a gun and decided I'd like to try and compete in some pistol and shotgun tournaments in the New England area in the future. I've taken the class to get my FID card and handgun permit (must be 21 in order to be eligible) so I'm most likely going to start of with skeet shooting since I'll be able to legally buy a shotgun once my paperwork is processed and I'm sent my FID card. I've yet to have actually gone skeet shooting, but plan on trying it out this summer and hopefully competing in the future once I get some experience under my belt.
  5. Traveling - I already have a week with my family and girlfriend planned this summer at our house in Cape Cod. I also have the opportunity to go to Narragansett, RI for the beach with my friends for a couple of days so there is a good chance I'll be taking up that offer.
  6. Exercising and eating healthier - I'm going to be committing myself to the Insanity 60 day workout program and plan on working as hard as possible to lose some weight and get in better shape.

Overall my goal for the summer is to become motivated and take the laziness out of my life. I know I can make a lot of money at poker if I stop procrastinating and put in the time at the tables. I know I can get fit if put in the time exercising and eating healthy. I know I can enjoy life much more by keeping busy and trying new things and hobbies instead of sitting on my ass at home watching tv or taking naps. Sounds stupid, but I've lived like this for way too long. Time to change things up and get in a mindset that I can be proud of and live life without regrets and getting the most experiences as possible.

Summer I'm once again looking forward for you to come and black friday can't ruin my perfect summer!

Who knows.

So much has happened in the past week in my life that I'm in utter shock and have no clue what awaits me in the future. As for now my summer plans are pretty much completely fucked up and now I'm royally screwed for finding a job let alone one that I like. My schedule for next semester/future in college is a whole other story... I'll elaborate more when I'm up for it.

gg online poker, nice knowing ya.

Summer Volunteer Plans & Dogs

As some of you may know it was a rough year for my family and dogs as we have lost two of ours that we have had for a long time. In November we lost Cinnamon our yellow lab of 16 years and a week ago we lost Wolfie our Chihuahua of 13 years. Luckily we still have a 1 year old Chihuahua named Jet to keep us happy and upbeat.

I'm a huge dog lover and believe they really make your life so much greater. Therefore I have decided to volunteer at a local animal shelter for a couple of hours a week. I'd love to make a difference in some dog's lives and I think I'd truly get a lot out of the experience. It's also a great thing to put on a resume in the future since I won't have a "real" job this summer to put on it.

Above is a picture of my dogs when we had all three of them still around. Wolfie and Cinnamon are in the background, may they rest in peace <3 and I'm thankful to have had them as dogs.

Now of course we will be looking for a new puppy to give Jet a new brother and hope we will find one in the near future. While visiting the shelter I'm going to be volunteering at I met the perfect dog for me. His name is Messiah and it wasn't until my second visit there I was told he is completely deaf. He is still a puppy and if it were up to me I'd 100% be adopting this dog ASAP. His picture is posted above and if a miracle could happen I'd be able to convince my parents to adopt him and let me take him with me when I finally graduate and move out of the house.

I'll be updating this blog with picture/videos/stories of my journey volunteering this summer and I am really looking forward to the experience. Summer is right around the corner and I'm prepared to make it the best one I've ever had.
