This week was extremely frustrating and swingy. I found myself buried in a deep hole early into more of the sessions and was luckily able to get out of them. I was down 4 buyins ($100) a session 4 days this week and either ended the day with a profit or down < $10 when I quit. I'm actually very happy with this as it shows me that losing 4 buy-ins really isn't anything to get upset about and its always recoverable. I'm still running pretty terrible which is extremely depressing. The top graph shows that I'm really suffering from this and its killing my win rate and making it very frustrating to try and beat the game. I know it is just variance and I'll get the upside eventually, I just thought I might see it even out by now. I'm still optimistic in the future and having fun playing so that's all that matters.

I plan on depositing $600 on Stars within the first couple weeks of school to start taking advantage of the deposit bonus/stellar rewards before they reset at the new year.

Life Goals for School Year Brainstorm

As the school year approaches I am ready to start considering my course of action over the course of the year. Although the summer is ending and I'm nowhere near my goal of completion, I will not give up and still continue to set high standards for the future as I really just think of this summer as a learning experience. It has been a long journey and I have learned most than I could ever have imagined in such a short time. I want to continue to grow as a player and I hope that my results will reflect that as well.

I'm going to set a bunch of goals and they aren't just poker related, but school year goals for my all around life.

Goals for school year (September-May):

- Gain and Maintain a 3.2+ GPA

- Live a healthier lifestyle (sleep 7+ hours a night, exercise 3+ times a week (lose 15-20 lbs), eat better/more nutriously)

- Continue to play/study the game and grow as a player

- Move up to 100NL with 30+ buyins

- Make 5-7K in profits including bonuses

- Move some of my roll over to stars

- Play a minimum of 10 hours per week (Hoping to hit more like 15 hours a week)

This week went very well even though my time was limited on my sessions due to work conflicts and responsibilities of maintaining the house/taking care of my dog as I have been home alone. I ran very well but I played extremely solid. I haven't felt this good about my game ever. For the past couple of weeks before this I was struggling and I allowed variance to affect my play and diminish it into a passive horrible fish type play. After a sweat with Jake over the weekend he got me back on the right track and my results show.

According to PT3 the all in EV for this hand is negative/neutral. Now I believe thats wrong as I got it in with the best hand and pretty much was only beat by higher full houses (which according to the type of players these guys were I expected them to shove with any random hand in this spot). Maybe I don't truly understand all in EV as much as I thought I just figured looking at my graph that you'd think I just got it in as an underdog and sucked out when that is not the case. If anyone can explain it better that'd be great as maybe I'm really just missing something.

Either way I'm very happy with my results and hope I can maintain my game at the level it is at the moment. I'm almost caught up on my losses from last weeks downswing and am ready to keep my profits rising in the hopes to move up in the near future. I'm heading to cape cod for the weekend with my girlfriend so I will not be playing until most likely Monday. Including today I've put in some time playing everyday so far this month and that is something I am proud of as I'm not skipping any days for stupid reasons and am on the right track for getting Iron man again this month.
