Day 10.

I didn't get many hands in today which is very disappointing, but the ones I did were worth it.

Results:
Limit: 10nl 6 max

Rakeback Earned: +$.92
Total Won (Today): +$16.62
Total Won (Overall): +$107.17

My results so far are very mediocre and I need to focus on putting in a lot more hands and dedicated many more hours a week to playing. I'm setting a goal to play a minimum of 20,000 hands for the first week of May (Tuesday May 1st to Monday May 7th). This is along with my goal of making Iron man for the month of June. I also want to try throwing in a few micro sit and goes here and there. I'm still very tempted to throw money on stars for the deposit bonus and the much larger scale of sit and gos that are running there, so that is a possibility in the future.

I also found out I qualified for a week of card runners last month which starts this week sometime so I want to dedicate some time to review videos and study my game some more.

Day 9 Recap

Today went alright. I started off playing bad as I played after midnight last night when I was tired and frustrated after yesterday's outcome. I was able to concentrate and get my mind straight today and started off with some FR then changed over to 6 max. My 6 max game seemed very strong and I was able out of the slump I got into last night and put my day into the positive. The rise up into the positive was from playing some solid 6 max and I was happy with my play. I plan on grinding 6 max more often in the future.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR/6 max
Number of Hands Played: 1,851
Amount Won: +11.24
Rakeback Earned: +$6.80
Total Won (Today): +$18.04
Total Won (Overall): +$90.55
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2409.45

Tomorrow I'd like to put in a long and solid session and hopefully get me back in onto the track of coming closer to my goal.

Day 8 - Running terrible...downswing

Today went pretty much terrible. I've never ran so terrible in one day. I ended the day with a cooler and running a good 3 buy-ins under EV. I experimented with a little mix of both 6 max and FR today and it didn't pay off.

Here's the final hand and the dip in my graph that just put me over the edge.

Rakeback Earned: +$4.10

Running so terrible all day caused me to get tilted and not play my 100% like I should be. This is another major setback to my goal and I need to pick it up a lot more in the coming weeks in order to make ground where I should be.

End of Day 7 Review

Overall the day went okay. My sessions in the afternoon were fairly terrible with the ocassional cooler and a few mistakes on my end. I also ran into some really tilting situations such as when I flopped a nut flush just to see my connection time out because my mom unplugged the router in the other room to move the desk it was sitting on. By the time I got internet back I was sitting out on all tables and it folded my hand. Another situation which was very tilting was when I had QQ against a fish who was betting like crazy on a very dry board. For some reason it insta-folded my hand on the turn without me even touching my mouse.

I once again seemed to hit the top of everyone range and was the victim on yet again two set over set situations for a full stack. It is very annoying and makes my love for flopping a set much weaker.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR

Rakeback Earned: +$6.94
Total Won (Today): +19.18

Mid-Day 7 Report. Here comes the momentum.

After a horrible session last night I started the day off strong with a little under 3 buy-in winning session. The reason I quit so early is the tables were becoming a bit dry and I was starting to feel tired which doesn't help my game. I'm going to take a nap and get back to the tables in a couple of hours.

I'm very optimistic and over last night's session. Hopefully I will continue to run well and play my best tonight to hopefully overcome all of the losses of of that session and get back on track to my goal..

My monitor will be in Monday so I'm excited to set that up and it will hopefully inspire me to put more hours in.

Day 6 - Hello Downswing

Wow. I just ended a session that was just overall devastating. I ran absolutely horrible and every fish playing 75 percent of hands on FR I played I seemed to hit the top of their range and or I was ahead the whole hand and they sucked out on the river. I also ran into an old friend which was losing set over set. A very depressing and disappointing session.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 803
Amount Won: -47.30
Rakeback Earned: +$2.61
Total Won (this Day): -$44.69
Total Won (Overall): +$47.89
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,452.11

I wasn't able to put a session in until around 11PM. Tomorrow I plan on playing a nice long session as this is a major setback to my pace and I need to regain and recover from this.

Day 5 Review

Today went well. I'm still struggling to put in the amount of hands I'm able to play due to family conflicts. My time will be much more free next week and basically the whole month of June which I plan on putting in many long sessions. Until then I'm just doing the best I can while still making ends meet with family/friends.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 439
Amount Won: +21.00
Rakeback Earned: +$1.38
Total Won (this Day): +$22.38
Total Won (Overall): +$92.58
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,407.42

Tomorrow I'll be spending a good portion of the day with my girlfriend, but I'd like to get a decent session in during the day followed by one tomorrow night.

Day 4 Recap - Losing is never fun.

I started off this morning with a session that was mediocre at best. I lost a couple of big hands early and put me in the negative of a couple of buy-ins. I keep grinding on and was able to work it up to a small profit for the session. I then gave it another go later on in day only to have my good run of cards to end and I suffered some coolers that deeply hurt my results for the day (its pretty obvious where this happened after looking at my graph).

I'm still happy with my play. My only losses over 20 big blinds for my losing session were two set over set scenarios where we both hit our sets on the flop and all the money went in just to find myself getting coolered, but hey thats life and you can't always win. I'm happy with my play overall I just wasn't able to recover from those losses as I found myself not getting paid off on my big hands. I think I need to focus more on table selection and finding some more loose tables.

I decided no matter what I'm not going to consider moving up to 25nl FR until I have at the minimum 20,000 hands (most likely going to wait until 25,000) under my belt at it. Then I will decide to take shots if I feel ready.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 758
Amount Won: -$13.02
Rakeback Earned: +$1.98
Total Won (this Day): -$11.04
Total Won (Overall): +$70.20
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,429.80

On a happy note I ordered a 20" monitor to put portrait next to my 30". I will post pictures of my setup when I receive it.

End of Day 3 Recap.

So tonight went as good as I hoped. I continued to run well and was playing my A game. I have definitely noticed a huge increase in the amount of money I'm losing each session by going with reads and knowing whether the play is +EV or not. I'm very happy with my progression and it's allowing me to be much more excited about my play. Although I am prepared for a downswing as I know you can't always win and run terrible (which is very evident from my past). But I'm happy to put up another winning session and hope to put up many more in the future.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 500
Amount Won: +$44.34
Rakeback Earned: +$1.90
Total Won (these sessions): +$46.24
Total Won (Overall): +$81.24
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,418.76

Overall I know I need to be putting in many more hands and have longer sessions which I plan on focusing getting better at these next couple of weeks. Today I found myself running around and too busy too play and finally at night when I had the time I find myself getting tired and I don't like playing tired as I'm not playing my A game. Tomorrow I will be getting up early to run some errands and then hopefully will put in a solid session in the afternoon sometime.

Mid - Day 3 Results

So I got a little off track this morning and didn't get up at 10 like I anticipated. I ended up getting caught up with some friends and was able to put in a short 45 minutes session. Luckily I played well combined with running good I ended up a couple buy-ins after only 193 hands.

I'd like to play a much longer session tonight so hopefully I'll have the time and won't be too tired to play. I'll do a total day recap tonight sometime to show my totals and how far I am with my goals and such.

I also want to make a goal of making at least Bronze Iron Man on FT this June in order to get a little of the bonus they will be having soon. I have been very close to getting it a couple of different months in the past and have run just short due to not playing enough days, but getting enough FTPs for the days I was playing. So this will be another goal along with trying to get Ironman for the rest of the summer.

Day 2 Recap.

Tonight I played a decent session of 10nl FR. I ended up being up although I was down ev for a great majority of the session and saw more coolers than I could have imagine. Most sickening were probably full house <>

One particular hand that really bothered me was as follows:

Full Tilt - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3: http://www.pokertracker.com

MP: $10.00
MP+1: $2.91
CO: $6.70
BTN: $3.16
Hero (INVALID POS): $10.00
SB: $9.79
UTG: $6.73
UTG+1: $6.55

Hero posts SB $0.05, SB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has Jc Ac

UTG raises to $0.20, fold, fold, MP+1 calls $0.20, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.90, fold, UTG calls $0.70, fold

Flop: ($2.10, 2 players) Kh Ad 2s
Hero bets $1.25, UTG calls $1.25

Turn: ($4.60, 2 players) 8s
Hero checks, UTG bets $4.58 and is all-in, Hero calls $4.58

River: ($13.76, 2 players) 5s

Hero shows Jc Ac (One Pair, Aces)
UTG shows Qs Js (Flush, Queen High)
UTG wins $12.85

This particular guy was a complete donk and I knew I was beating him when I called his shove. Unfortunately the turn completed his runner runner flush to take down the pot. I then watched his (and my remaining money) be spread throughout the players at the table pot after pot of horrible play. But I'm happy with my read there and I obviously wouldn't have made that call unless my read was solid. You can't win em all I guess and at least I got it in good, got it out bad.

I'm hoping to grind out 10nl FR for around 25,000 hands and see where I stand and if I'm beating it significantly I'll definitely take a shot at 25nl.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 909
Amount Won: +$18.09
Rakeback Earned: +$3.10
Total Won (this session): +$21.19
Total Won (Overall): +$35
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,465.00

My plan for tomorrow is to get up around 10 and put in a solid session or two. Hopefully I'll run a little bit better, but I am content with my results for that session considering the coolers and suck outs I received.

Day 1 Results

I started playing 10nl FR on Full Tilt and I was able to put up a nice winning session. I started off playing well and running hot and ended up still playing well, but running into a lot of coolers. My biggest losing overall hand for the session was pocket Aces so I can't really complain as people were just sucking out left and right.

I feel very confident in the FR format and plan on 6+ tabling it and hopefully continuing with good results.

Results:
Limit: 10nl FR
Number of Hands Played: 748
Amount Won: +$11.27
Rakeback Earned: +$2.54
Total Won: +$13.81
Amount Remaining to reach Goal: $2,486.19

Introduction

My name is Colt. I attend UMass Amherst and will be a sophomore next semester. I've been involved with online poker as a serious hobby since February of this year, I'm currently grinding up the micro stakes and want to use this to talk about my results and set goals for the future. I want to make $2500 in profit by September 10th. Thats 111 days so it would be 1500/111 or $22.50 a day which seems pretty doable especially if I can beat the limits and move up. I need to focus on my consistency and being able to beat the variance and deal with the swings. I will start out focusing on grinding out 10nl FR/6max and some microstakes sit and goes and then work my way up the stakes as I progress and beat the limits. I will be playing on full tilt only at the moment so all rakeback/bonuses will be counted towards my goal. I will try and keep my results posted everyday along with interesting hands, graphs, or any other thoughts I may have.
